Suspected Herders Kill Farmer In Jattu, Edo

Kidnappers suspected to be herders have reportedly killed a civil servant cum farmer identified as Gabriel Inofomoh in Edo State.

It was gathered that the incident happened in the Jattu community, the headquarters of the Uzairue clan, Etsako West Local Government area of Edo State.

It was also learnt that the deceased, also a staff of Auchi Polytechnic, went to the farm on Wednesday last week but did not return home.

A source in the community said that when the deceased did not return home, a search team started combing the bush for the missing farmer, and his corpse was found on Saturday.

The source stated that the matter had been reported at the Jattu Police Division while another source at the station confirmed the incident but said he was not authorized to speak.

When contacted, the Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said he would revert after contacting the divisional police officer Jattu division.
