OSPAC Leader Arrested With Human Skull

The ONELGA Security and Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC), particularly in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA (ONELGA), has outlived its usefulness, as the police state command exposed its nefarious activities.

Raging from the abduction of a member of Hause indigene, which was reported to the police by their chairman.

Seleh reported to the police on May 9th, 2024, about the abduction of their member, and all efforts by the police for Felix Nwaobakata, ONELGA OSPAC commander, to report to the station proved abortive. Instead, OSPAC attacked the police division in Omoku, which was foiled.

This was necessary for the tactical unit of the command to storm the ONELGA OSPAC camp at Omoku, where Cheta Benjamin, Joshua Ekwosa, Innocent Ahiakwu, and four others were arrested, including ONELGA OSPAC commander Felix Nwaobakata who was caught on June 17th 2024 in his hideout in Omoku where two human skills and human bones where found in his possession.

The arrested OSPAC commander is also a principal suspect in the murder of two brothers, Collins Ugorji and Newman Ugorji, of the Idu community in ONELGA. They were killed on May 1st, 2024, by OSPAC on the allegation of being kidnappers; their motorcycles were confiscated, and their bodies were taken to the OSPAC Secretariat in Omoku.

In a similar Incident, the Egbeda community youths who staged a peaceful protest against Lubrik Construction Company (LCC) on the 31st of May 2024 but were addressed by the police, and they dispersed were ambushed by members of OSPACl led by the Egbeda OSPAC Commander Friday Ogbuji who shot and killed the youth leader, Innocent Didia.

The Rivers State Police command has made further arrests, and investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspects will be charged with a crime and tried in court.

CP Olatunji Disu advised state residents to channel all complaints of assault, extortion, or illegal detention to the nearest police station to assure residents of its committed duty of protecting lives and property.
And zero tolerance for all acts of illegality, excessive use of force, torture, fraudulent conversion of properties, and other varying forms of criminality by OSPAC or any other Vigilante group.

The Commissioner of Police states, ” While recognizing the relevance and importance of these vigilante groups in the community policing system regarding information gathering and visibility, among other things, the command will keep engaging and energizing these groups on what is expected of them and their limitations. The right of all enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(1999) as amended must be respected.”

The CP commander reassures the public and all key Stakeholders doing good business in the state of its dedication to safely guiding lives and property within the ambit of the law while issuing a warning to individuals or groups who will want to do otherwise.
