Unlock Human And Natural Resource Potential Of Ogoniland – SAYS President

The president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the state house on Wednesday during his meeting with members of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers of Ogoni, led by King Samuel Nnee, Gbenemene Tai Kingdom, and paramount Ruler of kpite Tai stated that his administration is committed to unlocking the human and natural resource potential of Ogoni land while ensuring the environmental and economic security of Nigerian communities.
The meeting also hosted the Former Governor of Rivers State, the minister of the federal capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Engr.Abubakar Momoh, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris had tended a request to the president about the resuscitation of oil and gas production in Ogoni land which comprises Elema, Khana, Gokana, and Tai local Government Areas of Rivers State.
“He started “We must heal the wounds of the past, we must live and prepare for the future of our children and we must be committed to uplifting the livelihoods of our people in a free Nigeria. “He recognised that it was the healing process he inherited. He will pursue it diligently and honorably as many people will be empowered as it goes on.
President Tinubu expressed delight about the meeting and resisting business in ogoni land. Affirming that without these businesses, the recovery of the country will be adversely affected. He agreed that the environment and other challenges will be looked into.
pledging his unwavering dedication to freedom for all people and the valve of democratic governance, having been elected by the people.
The Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) whose recent DG and spokesperson is from the area with this president stated that his committed to deepen collaboration with Ogoni leaders to create mutually – beneficial economic opportunities for Ogoniland.
President Tinubu commended the former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the FCT for his dedication to alleviating the plight of the Ogoni people, stating how severely he (the former governor) has shared concerns about the Ogoni people with him.
King Nnee in his remark commended the president for his numerous achievements within one year in Office, his unspeakable dedication to Service and empathy are the propelling forces behind his prompt response to our people’s yearnings which the past administration has not met. He mentioned to the president the readiness of the Ogoni people to commence oil and Gas production in the land to the potential unbundling of OML 11. Stating that it will contribute $5 billion per annum to Nigerian’s GDP on an asset which is 100 percent owned by NNPCL.
