Ex Rivers NRM Guber candidate, Jackrich opens up on Military home invasion

Nelson Chidiebere, Port Harcourt

The Former Governorship Candidate of the National Rescue Movement(NRM) in the 2023 generation election, Sobomabo Jackrich popularly known as Egberipapa, has cleared the air on an invasion of his private residence on the 8th of April, saying the operation was carried out by troops of the Nigerian Army 6 Division headquarters, Port Harcourt Barracks.

Speaking during a live interview in a television news programme monitored by our correspondent in Port Harcourt, Jackrich, an ex-militant leader said the raid of his home at Usokun Residence in Degema Local Government Area of the state, was due to claims by the Army to have intelligence reports suggesting that he is harboring some of the culprits involved in the Okuama killings in Delta state in his house.

Jackrich, who vehemently denied the allegations, stating that he is innocent of such accusations, stressed that he is in contact with his legal team to take legal action against the military for the false claims and invasion of his residence.

He said: “They are from the 6 Division, Nigerian Army Bori Camp, and truly they are officers. But it does prove why should they have come by that time without inviting me and without a search warrant. That is how they came in, forced themselves in then, started the operation.

“The truth is, I am not a professional and by the grace of God I have asked my lawyers to advise me on the possible way to go about it to be on the safe side. I do not want to take actions that are rash and not my line.

“When they came in after having access to my compound, they told me that they got information that some persons who are culprits or were amongst the people who killed 17 military officers in Okuama in Delta State are being housed in my house.

“How can that be, I have a house and I do not know people coming into my house it is impossible. So I was shocked, they started asking questions if I knew certain persons”.

Recall that in the early hours of April 8, Jackrich was whisked away by unknown gunmen dressed in military uniform after an operation that began at about 2 am Monday and lasted for over eight hours.

It was learned that two aides to Jackrich, Diamond Tamunoiminabo, and Sincere Jackrich, suffered fatal casualty.

However, Jackrich emphasized his innocence and asserted that he had no involvement in any criminal activities related to the Okuama killings.
