The youth of Igbu Akoh Kingdom comprised of ( Ihugbogo; Odieke-Akoh; Odimisama; Odiemerenyi; Ekpena; Odhiaje; Ula-Ehuda; Ogbo; Abarikpo; Okporomini; Eligbo; Ihuaje) communities in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State in which five persons were killed last Sunday in Odieremenyi community by suspected cultists loyal to wanted David Gift, aka 2Baba has revealed the names of 2Baba’s loyalists who allegedly carried out the attack.
The Youth body also criticized persons calling for the release of suspects in Police custody in relation to the late SP Bako Angbashim killing describing just persons as enemies of the people.
In a voice note sent to Journalists, the Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Youth Congress, Comrade Ekeakita Hector Chinem said “Categorically the people who perpetrated the evil act are Okpara aka Odogwu, Okoroba aka Apaka(Akoh 1), Eyeike aka Sampe and two others that aide these crimes (last Sunday killing) making it five persons.
“They killed five innocent Youths of Igbu Akoh. We condemn the act. We also urge the Police to put up efforts as they have been doing. We know that by the Grace of God Uche, Easter Okoroba, Edward Eyeike, others and 2Baba will be brought to book. We are not distracted by the evil act we are strongly behind the Police and going to provide the necessary information we know about these people to the Police so they can be brought to book.
“We also got reliable information in our hand that there are some persons saying they are EYC executives and signed a notice that some people under Police custody should be released.
“We want to say if you are found wanting by the Police and in one way detained is assumed they are investigating.
“So We are saying any persons or group of persons calling for people under Police investigation to be released, we see those people are enemies of Ekpeye land.
“There is no time that members of 2Baba group have not been arrested, there is no time Police arrested innocent people after profiling they did not release them. I want anybody to quote me anywhere, I will mention people who were arrested and released by the Police without collecting money.
“So why we somebody say the Police are arresting innocent persons from Ekpeye.The Police and the general public should see those persons as enemies of the operation to arrest 2Baba. They are the persons collecting money from people, looking for self-recognition from their Godfathers.
“We are praying that other sisters agencies should join the Police to arrest 2Baba successfully”.
Recall that the spokesperson for the River State Police Command SP Grace Iringe Koko had in a statement on Monday, November 13, 2023, confirmed the killing of five persons by suspected cultists in Odieremenyi community in Ahoada East and the killing of 2 hoodlums by the Police.
