Uniport student remanded to prison for allegedly killing girlfriend

A University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) student, Damian Okoligwe who has been accused of killing his girlfriend and a fellow student, Justina Otuene has been remanded to the Port Harcourt correctional facility.

He was remanded to the facility by trial magistrate, Chief Magistrate M.O Anugbum who ordered that the case file should be transferred to the Directorate of Public Prosecution(DPP) for legal advice.

His lawyer O.G Nweke, did not object when the prosecution lawyer asked the court to remand the accused due to the weight of the offence.

The case was adjourned till on the 15 of December.
